Dadaocheng has been famous for tea throughout the world. In the heyday of tea business, there were more than two hundred tea houses. All day long, people could be seen on verandas picking tea leaves, and the air was filled with the aroma all the time. Today's tea business is not as good as it used to be, but the aroma of tea leaves around Wang's Tea House is as strong.

That's because of a tea-roasting room in the back of the house, the only one still using coal-heating method in Taipei at the present time. The Wang's Tea House was founded in 1890, came to Dadaocheng in 1930, and is currently run by the fifth generation. Because of the know-hows and innovation, the manager has turned its tea into a world-renowned brand. The second floor of the house has been renovated into an exhibition and performance space, where Nankuan Opera performances are scheduled every Saturday. The fifth generation tea house manager, Cheng-chu Wang. will introduce Taiwan's tea culture and demonstrate how to taste different teas.
