Originally from England, Tom has been walking in Taiwan's forests for many years. Through his adventures into the mountains, he has built up a wide knowledge of Taiwan's wildlife and flora. The island has a diverse range of habitats, from sub-tropical rainforest to alpine forest, and a large amount of endemic species. Particularly in northern Taiwan, he knows a lot of less visited trails, and beautiful spots largely unknown to local people. He is excited to share some of his favorite walks in the Taipei area. Some have spectacular views, and others have secluded waterfalls or monkey colonies. He has a particular interest in Taiwan's huge variety of snakes and spiders. Outside of hiking he is an artist, cartographer, and has a good knowledge of Taiwan's history and culture.
